Manchester Airport Control Room

The resultant aesthetic is not always the primary driver in Orbium's projects and our involvement with Manchester Airport's new control room is certainly a case in point.

As part of the airport's modernisation programme, all 24-hour working departments were brought together from all areas of the airport into one central location immediately below Air Traffic Control.

As the areas are very high wear and multi user, much thought went into ergonomics and user comfort. Following the brief, 2-D and 3-D models were presented of each area to establish exact requirements, from height adjustability through to airflow around CPU's.

Production commenced soon after and manufacture, delivery and installation were within the strict 8 week lead time.
