Manchester Airport

Orbium were instrumental in working with both architect and designer in providing a new beam seating solution for the new £80m redevelopment programme for Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport.

Working with all stakeholders over a two year period, Orbium developed a new system allowing individuals and families to sit comfortably whilst in the main retail areas of the airport. Five and six seat beams as well as individual chairs for the security areas were supplied over a 2 month period in the Spring of 2009.

New standards approved, the scheme has been so successful that Manchester Airport has been nominated for several design awards as well as recently being voted the UK's best airport.
